Walking Tours Make Great Gifts
Summer 2008

Healdsburg Walking Tours LLC presents internationally-recognized public arts
advocate Debra Lehane, curator of the Sonoma County-based Voigt Family
Sculpture Foundation, as guest guide of "The Foss Creek Pathway Sculpture
Walk of Healdsburg", to be held Saturday, October 11, 2008, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.

Lehane, the former director of the San Francisco Arts Commission's Civic Arts
Project, will offer Sculpture Walk participants a compelling curatorial introduction
to the eight eye-popping, large-scale outdoor sculptures and six eclectic art
benches that were created by world-renowned artists, and installed along the
meandering, oak-studded, downtown pathway by the Voigt Family Sculpture
Foundation, in a cooperative effort with the city of Healdsburg , to promote
sophisticated, diverse large-scale sculpture in publicly-accessible places.

"The Sculpture Walk is a stellar opportunity for Sonoma County residents
and visitors, alike, to add a vibrant, new dimension to their Wine Country
experience," says Darla Meeker, owner/operator of Healdsburg Walking
Tours LLC. "Like world-class food and wine, world-class sculpture
engages the senses, and has a unique vocabulary all of its own.
Who better to speak to these fantastic works of art than Voigt
Family Sculpture Foundation curator, Debra Lehane, whose long-held
passion for public art promises a lively, informed, and memorable walking tour?"

Featured Foss Creek Pathway works include "Big Joe", the massive,
four -ton , fire-engine red, double helix sculpture by Peter Forakis,
William Wareham's fanciful "Butterfly Sofa", "Separation 7-7-7" by
Suzanne Biaggi, and Daniel Oberti's surrealistic "Spirit Wall & Spheres" ,
among the many other unique works of art to be explored during the
"Foss Creek Pathway Sculpture Walk of Healdsburg" .
